Peewee Falls Scenic Overlook
Everyone can enjoy the spectacular view
Just north of Metaline Falls, the Peewee Falls Scenic Overlook offers an easy path to one of Northeast Washington’s most rewarding views. A short gravel trail- about a quarter mile round trip- descends gently from the parking area to a spacious viewing platform where benches invite you to pause and take in Peewee Falls cascading into the Pend Oreille River, with Hooknose Mountain rising in the distance.
Opened in 2023 through a partnership between Seattle City Light and the U.S. Forest Service, the overlook was designed for accessibility and day-use comfort, with picnic tables, restrooms, and ample parking. From spring’s lively flow to autumn’s golden larches, this peaceful stop captures the quiet beauty of the Boundary Reservoir canyon and offers a simple way to experience the wild landscape without a long hike.
