Ride Wild and Free in Northeast Washington

From high-country lookouts to forested valleys, Northeast Washington offers outstanding opportunities for OHV and ATV adventures. With hundreds of miles of designated motorized trails and open forest roads across Ferry, Stevens, and Pend Oreille counties, riders can explore remote landscapes, scenic ridgelines, and historic logging routes. Popular areas include the Middle Fork Calispell Trail system, the Batey-Bould loop and the expansive trails on Washington Department of Natural Resources-managed lands. Whether you’re riding a dirt bike, ATV, or side-by-side, there’s a trail for every experience level.

Before heading out, be sure to check current regulations, seasonal closures, and trail conditions with local land managers, including the Colville National Forest, Washington DNR, and county authorities. Many areas require a Discover Pass, and all OHVs must be properly licensed. With a little planning, you’ll be on your way to a backcountry ride through some of the most wonderfully wild terrain in the state.
